Toledo looks to move up in MAC

After going 5-7 in 2009, the Toledo Rockets hope to rocket their way up the Mid-American Conference pecking order this season.
The Rockets finished 3-2 in conference play, good for fourth in the MAC West Division. And that’s where members of the media covering the conference believe Toledo will land again this season.
Toledo was picked to finish fourth in a poll released during the conference’s football media day. Northern Illinois was tabbed first in the West, followed by Central Michigan, Western Michigan, the Rockets, Ball State and Eastern Michigan.
Temple earned the most votes in the East, with Ohio second.
Toledo opens its season Sept. 3 at home against Arizona. The MAC opener is Sept. 11 at Ohio.
